- Brilliant as part of 'Hardman of Soccer' show
Tommy Smith is Liverpool through and through.
He joined Anfield as a fifteen year old apprentice under the management of the legendary Bill Shankly and went to on to Captain the Club to some of their greatest successes.
He was the Hardman of Liverpool FC's defence and every speaker from the world of football has a story about him as both colleagues and opponents. Just ask Jimmy Greaves, Norman Hunter, Bobby Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Steve Kindon , Joey Jones ...
He was overlooked at International level, despite Captaining the England Youth Team to World Cup success in 1964.
After a short spell with John Toshack at Swansea City , he retired from playing to Coach the Liverpool Youth Team.
Now a much requested speaker, he regularly writes for the Liverpool Echo and broadcasts on Radio Merseyside.
His stories about the great Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and colleagues and opponents are very funny and he is a natural comedian and great company who will enhance any occasion.
His Liverpool FC material is legend and he also teams up with two other “Hardmen of Soccer” Nobby Stiles MBE of Manchester United and Norman Hunter of Leeds for a hilarious show at which shin pads are obligatory!!
